ExaLINK 50


The ExaLINK 50 is a new type of circuit switch that connects ports with less than 5 nanoseconds latency.

The ExaLINK 50 enables dynamic reconfiguration of network topology, data broadcast from one port to multiple ports, and mirroring of data for network monitoring, all while adding negligible latency to a network. An ExaLINK is much faster than a traditional Ethernet switch and far more flexible than a tree of optical splitters.

Users within the financial markets trading world use the ExaLINK 50 for multicast data dissemination, network monitoring, sending drop copies and as a fast kill switch. Yet it also has wider applications.

Any application that requires fast data multicast can benefit from the low latency of the ExaLINK. Additionally, as a top-of-rack device in an data centre the ExaLINK 50 allows for remote, real time network reconfiguration, eliminating the need to send remote hands into the data centre and ultimately providing a TCO benefit. This 'Electronic Patch Panel' use case is a natural fit for network engineers and infrastructure managers to manage several networks in different physical locations from a central location.
