Update the Firmware

The Cisco Nexus 3550-T Programmable Switch Platform firmware updates are available as an installer binary. The update process verifies the integrity of the contents of the binary before applying the update and rebooting the Nexus 3550-T. The update process takes a few minutes.

Currently, you can transfer updates to a Nexus 3550-T only via SCP, though more methods will be added in the future.

Obtain Nexus 3550-T Firmware Access

Nexus 3550-T Firmware updates are available to download here. You will need a valid Cisco ID and support contract to access these updates.

Update with SCP

1. Transfer the firmware to the admin user's home directory on the Nexus 3550-T by running the following command:

   $ scp nexus-triton-installer_1.0.0.bin admin@NX-3550-T:
   admin@NX-3550-T's password:
   nexus-triton-installer_1.0.0.bin 100%  247MB  65.8MB/s   00:03
   

2. Once the installer is available on the Nexus 3550-T, begin the firmware update process by using the command line interface.

   admin@NX-3550-T# configure update file nexus-triton-installer_1.0.0.bin
   Using system update file '/var/home/admin/nexus-triton-installer_1.0.0.bin'
   Starting update process...
   Connection to NX-3550-T closed by remote host.
   Connection to NX-3550-T closed.
